Riveted in place two 1/8 stainless steel SSD42SSBS rivets -- one in the original hole, the other a half inch from removed rivet. Removed coatings from original fabric using methyl ethyl ketone. Recovered damaged area with 6.5x3.5 section of fabric and polytacked into place as appropriate. After four hours, heat shrunk with iron to 250F and 350F to remove all bubbles and tighten fabric. Coated with Polybrush 3:1 R-8500 Reducer doped with blue polytone to aid in visibility.

Also wired a white LED light for daytime use. Used 16 gauge red wire or the red LED and yellow wire for the white LED. The 800 ohms (1/2 watt) of resistance for the red light and the 350 ohms (3/4 watt) resistance for the white light were covered in heat shrink tubing to insulate. Compass surface has an electrical hot spot that required taping over with wire insulating tape. zip tied wire into place. Put breaker in place, but I did not wire the switch yet as appropriate option not available. Tested rest of compass electrics successfully, however.
